If roaming profiles are set for a user, or gpedit is set to only allow local profiles, I only get the error on the first login for a user. For use in real setups, write file url. To pass WU check through Squid splice, you only need to splice next MS servers: .net. If I remove thunderbird, I do not get the error. To use splicing, you need to know the names of the servers, however, a recursive DNS query does not give a result.

Go to com/26587, click ‘Download tool now’, run it and select the ‘Upgrade this PC now’ option (see screenshot below), then follow the on-screen instructions. Potentially you could hide the updates and so block them (see Tutorials) but with Office thats not a good strategy really.
